Father Kiril
“Let us believe and not abandon our faith, as we walk together on the Lord’s path.”
Father Kiril – Our Spiritual Pastor
With great joy and gratitude to God, the Bulgarian community in Chicago welcomed Father Kiril – the first priest to serve at Sv. Ivan Rilski Church under the jurisdiction of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.
Father Kiril arrived in Chicago with his wife, Presbytera Gyurgia. He is an example of deep and conscious devotion to God – having embarked on the path of theological education in his mature years, he graduated from the Sofia Theological Seminary and dedicated himself entirely to priestly ministry.
He comes to us with rich experience from his ministry in Bulgaria – serving in churches and monasteries such as “Sv. Nicholas” in Petrich and the Monastery of “Sv. George” in Hadzhidimovo. These years have built in him invaluable spiritual experience and deep understanding of people’s needs.
Father Kiril’s mission is clear and inspiring: to open wide the doors of the church to everyone – and especially to young people and children, who are the future of our faith. His goal is to transform Sv. Ivan Rilski Church into the beating heart of the Bulgarian community – a place for prayer, enlightenment, and preservation of our roots and traditions.
